IF ONLY WE COULD SEE THE SHORE, 2024
Far and wide
Do you know where you are going?
I know exactly where I'm heading. I can envision it, sense it.
I know what it feels like and even what it smells like. Deep down I’ve always known.
…
But can you see that space?
The enormous space between knowing and doing.
Between departing and arriving.
That’s where we float adrift.
There’s nothing there. Therefore, everything is there.
The options, the hopes and fears, the doubts and expectations. The longing and wonder.
Are you scared of drifting?
I don’t think I am.
Although it has been said that it is a space where suffering thrives.
That you might be better off just doing immediately what you knew all along.
I think it is a space that scares people.
It’s about being able to sit in emptiness.
In what is, in what comes or doesn’t come, in what flows and obstructs.
In simply being.
